Add a cool music player to your website
This program initially shows a lot of promise, offering the simple concept of providing web builders with a platform for creating their own Flash jukebox. However, on closer inspection, the potential for this to be a great utility has sadly not been realized.
One of the most important things for any self-respecting web developer is to leave their own mark on anything they create. Web Jukebox suffocates all creativity by restricting the user to a handful of predefined skins that they must choose from. No tools exist for making even basic design changes such as color or size, so you better be prepared to re-shuffle you web site’s design rather than that of the jukebox that you want to add.
Adding songs is straightforward if you know where your music is stored, although it will only handle MP3 files that have a sample rate of 5500, 11025, 22050 or 44100. Since there is large and growing number of music formats out there, it seems restrictive and begs the question of why the program doesn’t take care of any conversion itself. (The answer could lie in the fact that another CoffeeCup product, MP3 Rip & Burn will do that job for you)
In conclusion, this software is OK for anyone that wants a quick fix and nothing more. We wouldn’t recommend Web JukeBox to anyone serious about web design or development because it completely hides the workings of the flash involved and wraps it up in a not-particularly-nice package.
